  1. 1/4 precut sand paper does not fit.
1/4 precut sand paper does not fit. The paper does not reach the clamps by maybe an eight inch. That's bs for any price. It has grips for holding sandpaper, but you will have to custom cut from a larger piece. This sander require tacky peel and stick sandpaper. Don't waste your money.

The sander is good, but without including the fixture to punch holes in the sanding sheets the vacuum attachment is usless. This makes the sander less than desirable to use. I am dissappointed in my purchase. Bob

Like all of the Hitachis that I have bought from Recon Sales, this little sander works like a professional model at a price that can't be beat. Would buy again.

I am a big fan of Hitachi products. I have purchased other Hitachi products from you and would do more if I did not feel your shipping costs were out of line. By shipping each item individually might be good for you, but proves more costly to the buyer.

I bought a reconditioned sander hoping it would last long enough to complete the one job I had for it. I smoothed out floor leveling cement with 50 grit paper. Happily it outlasted the job, I'm now using it for my woodworking projects. Every tool I've purchased from recon has been great

This is the 4th or 5th reconditioned Hitachi product I have purchased. I really can't tell the difference from new. As with any product of this type, when you first use it, it seems different from the previous brand. Once I got used to this one, no way could I go back to using the other. Just the way this one feels in your hand; it's like a natural extention. I highly recommend this product. Great price too.

Recommended. The sander was an excellent value. It get's the job done effectively and for my budget is unbeatable. My only recommendation is that if you need very good dust control, then look for one that has a standard dust port - this one has a non-standard oval shaped port withot an adapter available so you're limited to the dust bag. To work around this, I'll sometimes follow the sander around with a vacuum to try and collect at least some of the dust or work outside.

I really like this sander . It fits comfortably in the hand and this makes it easy to control . Being a 1/4 sheet size means that you can buy full size sheets and cut them to size with no waste or if your the lazy type you can just pick-up the sticky-back pre-cut sheets . The only drawback I can complain about is the noise . It seems excessivly loud for such a compact sander . But do you really care ?? The garage is MY World after all.

This sander is easy to use, comfortable, and pretty fast. The best part about this sander is it uses regular sheets of sand paper. You just cut them to size. This can save you a lot of money! The down side to cutting your own sanding pads is its easy to cut the wrong size (Slightly too big or small) and waste sand paper. Its also more difficult to line it up and clamp the sand paper than sanders with pre-cut discs or pads and velcro.

Hello The Hitatchi 1/4 sheet sander is the worst tool I have ever bought. Im glad it was cheap. I really like Hitachi tools but this one is a total flop. Thanks for asking Aaron

I am very pleased with the job it does! My only complaint is that it seems to transfer a substantial amount of vibration into my hand when I am using it, during times of extended use it makes my hand tingly. I think it is awesome that it can be used as sticky back or production paper, brilliant! The dust collector seems to do a decent job, I notice a big difference in the life span of the paper when I punch the holes for dust collection! Ian Hancock owner, Hancock Carpentry

Noisy, but seems to work well. Liked the Porter Cable pad sander better.
