Big Sky Tool Reviews
I gave this gun a 3* rating as I purchased it for a siding job and thinking I could use it for some occasion framing applications when needed. I read a lot of other reviews before I purchased this gun and most stated that unless you are drying to drive 3" nails in very hard, old wood, it should work fine. That was not my experience. I was using the .120" 3" nails in standard SPF wood and only 1/10 nails were sitting flush even at 120 psi. I would suggest someone that was interested in using this as a sparing framing gun, that you go with a smaller diameter shank. However, no way would this ever be someones primary framing gun which I new going into the purchase, but was still disappointed in its performance even for occasional use. As a siding nailer, it has been working flawlessly, but I would still give it only 4 stars as a siding gun as it is heavier than other siding only nailers due to design with the intent of driving 3" nails.
