This is a really great hammer drill, with its Rohm (German) chuck, extended side handle, and well designed case. Hitachi has applied its excellence equally to this hammer drill as it does to its rotary hammers.

It works great. I originally purchased a less powerful drill at Lowe's and returned it after seeing the drill I purchased on Recon Sales. I mix mortar, grout and drill holes with no problem. I would buy another if I hjad to. Thanks.

After only a few uses, the drill would stop in the middle of a job, with erratic start-stop response. Then it became totally unresponsive when trigger was activated. It was a total waste of my money, and am convinced I was "taken". My rating is actually zero Star but since there is no way to indicate zero I punched "one".

Drill performs well "BUT" battery charger did not work from time received til replaced @ a later date & battery is hard to remove @ times from drill to recharge (not a big deal). Main concern is the battery life is short compared to my Bosch drill (which does not discharge if not in use) the Hitachi battery will discharge itself after a full charge after a period of time "even if it is not in use"... An extra battery needs to be offered in set (as was with my Bosch set) to rectify this (it would make buy additional products from your company & I am the tool buyer for my company Tepro Inc. OEM automotive vender. But in closing, as I said earlier the drill itself has performed well.

It worked well but the settin to change from a straight drill into a hammer and back doesn't unlock very weel. It has power and works weell otherwise.

Drill was used to sink framing anchors into concrete block basement wall. Worked great for about two weeks, then overheated, smoked and died. I thought I could save some money....My mistake. Since it worked on arrival, I left positive feedback.
