when i first used this drill, it was great. Tons of power, light weight and manageable size. 1 month into use, it fell off the work bench (3ft) and a little piece of plastic broke off where the battery clips in. now the battery wont stay locked into the drill. 1 month later i was drilling a 3/4 inch hole with a paddle bit. the bit caught a nail and snap...the case broke in half right where the trigger is. now its a boat anchor. might be a good drill for driving screws close to the ground, but if your looking for a tough drill, look else where

This was to replace my cordless hammer drill and I am glad I got the wrong model number. Product seems like the batteries are not equal to a new one. Also on high speed it is slower than my DEWALTS. I think the charge time is to long. Would still buy DEWALTS 18-volt drill, more power and better battery life and lots more torque. They seem to run faster on high when drilling kreg jig holes.

As expected this drill model is balzy..I've pops holes in masonry, bored through 6"x6"s and used it to crank down some serious lags. No sweat!
Although I must add that you need to expect some extra weight with this kind of serious power. So if you're looking to drive small screws into finish woodwork you should be looking at one of the lighter weight (recon.)models. Hitachi recons have been good to me!

It has the torque they require, weighs less and is smaller than competitive units, 4 speed ranges are a handy feature.
