I was debating on what brand to get. Hitachi had a 4 year factory warranty I thought I'd give it a try. I've used it now for 2 months cutting wood underlayment. I cuts faster and cleaner then the old one and no problems.

This saber saw is just what I thought it would be - another great Hitachi product! The only thing that could have made it better was to have more blades included.

I HAD to return this miter saw, due to the fact that the nut that holds the blade on, had been over tightened so much, that the nut head was "rounded-off" and the 10mm factory wrench was unable to loosen the nut. You couldn't change the blade because the nut couldn't be loosened. Never got the chance to operate the saw due to this problem. The saw looked to be in great re-conditioned shape other than the rounded off nut.

Shows very little signs of use! They do a great job of turning these tools around! Built very well, extra heavy duty.Only short coming is the base plate is a chore to set on an angle(on-board Allen wrench) and the index degrees leave lots to be desired as to lining up on foot-plate to body marks! But most common use,for me,will be without cutting on anything other than straight cuts.

The saw came with a case. It looks and works great! I couldn't tell it from a new one. My suggestion would be if you order one, purchase a pack of saw blades to save shipping costs. The saw does come with a blade and works right out of the case. I think this saw was a reconditioned grade "C"!
