Long time user of this saw model... I noticed a few changes from my older design still believe this saw will serve me well I noticed the saw base has been changed and there are fewer vertical castings in base for stiffness. Also, the dust bag doesn't have internal ribs to hold it open and the bag is simply flat. The machining on the the right side insert fence is a little loose meaning the back of the fence isn't square to the base when tightened. Could be better. Sticker says made in Japan but I have my doubts. But the compact design and ease of use of this saw is really good and work well for me...

As a whole we LOVE this saw! The one main problem is the laser marker. We replaced our first saw with the same make and model because the laser marker finally died thus making it not as accurate and we need this accuracy in building furniture cabinets and tables. Our new saw has a problem with the laser marker because it is not square and we cannot find in the manual how to correct this problem. Could you please contact us at 303-798-7933 so we can correct it as soon as possible? The accuracy and all the other fundimentals of the saw are just great that is why we wanted another one just like the first one.

It cuts well but does not cut square. I am having difficulty figuring out if there is an adjustment to take care of that problem.

This saw replaced an one of the same model which had provided 4 years of excellent service. The first was used daily by a crew of trim carpenters who were extremely happy with it. It looks like the new one is going to provide the same level of quality service.

I bought this miter saw last year and ever since I have not had any trouble in using it. The laser its laser has been very effective and helpful especially when I do cuts that are more than 10” wide. Before buying this miter saw I had a 12” Dewalt 718, but it was heavier than the Hitachi I have and besides that it was more expensive it took a lot of space in my storage room and that were the reasons why I change it for the Hitachi. At the beginning I was not sure about Hitachi saws and I bought it thinking that I had made a mistake, but as the time passed I could see that I had made a good purchase. I have also used other miter saws of different brand names such as Bosh, Makita, Milwaukee, Delta, and Porter, but at the end if I have to buy one more miter saw it is going to be from Hitachi due to its good performance.
